Hot on the heels of our triumphant return to the stage in March, ASFB Presents was poised to continue this momentum with a spectacular summer lineup of thrilling dance performances. Now, after waiting two years to return to the Aspen District Theater, we were disappointed to learn that the public-school district will close the entire Aspen campus, including the theater, for renovations this summer. Having already curated a full summer of dance performances, this news was especially unfortunate. But challenges bring opportunity, and we quickly pivoted, revising our plans and bringing you innovative alternatives. With several free to the public outdoor dance events planned, ASFB will ensure that everyone can enjoy the power of dance!
This award-winning community enrichment program will be out and about this summer warming your hearts with spirited free performances throughout the town.

Held in Wagner Park, the performances are offered free to the public, as our way of saying thank you to our community for seeing us through these challenging times.Program notes for BLOOM!
Get ready for the world-acclaimed dance-illusionists of MOMIX in their first Aspen appearance in almost a decade! Now in its 41st season, and celebrated around the world for performances of astounding inventiveness, MOMIX creates surreal and fantastic worlds with light, shadow, props and the human body. These days, we are all craving levity and lightheartedness. These qualities are on full display in the surreal and fantastical worlds created by visionary choreographer, Moses Pendleton. His work focuses not only on the beauty of the human form, but also the beauty of nature, music, scenography, and life itself. Allowing audiences to dip their toes into a “stream of unconsciousness” (as Pendleton suggests), “Our goal is for you to sit back, enjoy the magic, and take in the optical confusion.” There is something for everyone in MOMIX, discover what’s in it for you!
