THE SCHOOL OF ASPEN SANTA FE BALLET - SANTA FE

Under the direction of Gisela Genschow, The School of Aspen Santa Fe Ballet is committed to providing the finest classical ballet training. As the official school of Aspen Santa Fe Ballet, a non-profit cultural organization, we are proud to be affiliated with a nationally recognized and critically acclaimed professional dance company. Students are taught in a supportive environment that fosters confidence and individual accomplishment as well as technique and artistry. World renowned master teachers such as Marianna Tcherkassky (American Ballet Theater), Christine Spizzo (American Ballet Theater), Lindsay Fischer (National Ballet of Canada), Sharee Lane (University of Utah), and Suki Schorer (School of American Ballet) are some of the master teachers who have come to Santa Fe to teach our students. Aspen Santa Fe Ballet directors, Jean-Philippe Malaty and Tom Mossbrucker work directly with students throughout the year, offering classes, rehearsals, and individual coaching. Our alumni have trained and danced with New York City Ballet, Washington Ballet, Pittsburgh Ballet Theater, The Julliard School, San Francisco Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, and Aspen Santa Fe Ballet.

The School of Aspen Santa Fe Ballet is committed to providing our students a diverse multi-disciplinary dance curriculum. Classical ballet is the foundation for many types of dance and today's dancer must be proficient in many styles of dance. In addition to ballet, we offer boys classes, partnering, dance conditioning, and workshops in modern dance and yoga.

PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES

In addition to classroom work, students are given opportunities to perform in our annual recital in the spring and in Aspen Santa Fe Ballet's production of The Nutcracker, at The Lensic Performing Arts Center, alongside professional dancers. We consider performance opportunities a valuable part of training and invaluable to the growth of the student; developing stage presence, musicality, discipline and confidence
