Ailey II, founded by the legendary Alvin Ailey in 1974, combines the spirit and energy of the country’s finest early-career dance talent with the passion and creative vision of today’s most outstanding young choreographers. The gifted dancers of Ailey II will bring the timeless masterpiece Revelations to the Lensic. Using African American spirituals, song-sermons, gospel songs and holy blues, Alvin Ailey's Revelations fervently explores the places of deepest grief and holiest joy in the soul.
